You will firstly visit the Temple of Heaven. It is the largest royal ceremonial building groups in China. Emperors in the past used to hold the annual sacrificial activities here to worship the heaven and pray for a good harvest. Now it has developed into a large park where you can also see local people doing exercises and more recreational activities.

Next you will continue your visit to Beijing Hutong. There you will take a rickshaw to go through the old alleys and pay a visit to a Hutong family to see how the old Beijingers live. There are many popular restaurants, cafes and local food stores in the area, so we may have a lunch there. It should be a good chance to taste the local food there. Your guide will offer you suggestions. After lunch, you could stroll around Houhai Lake and explore more of the Hutong area.

After the Hutong visit, will drive you to the Lama Temple, which is regarded as the largest Buddhist temple in Beijing. Constructed in the 7th century, the peak time of Tubo Kingdom, this temple is the best architectural combination of Tibet, Han, Nepal and India. It is also a holy Buddhist temple of worshiping the rare life-size statue of Sakyamuni at age twelve.

Next to the temple there is Bakhor Street, filled with pilgrims and street vendors, selling traditional Tibetan items such as prayer wheels and jewelry.

After breakfast, you are going to visit the Drepung Monastery, located in the west suburb of the city. It is one of the 'Three Great Monasteries' and the largest one in Tibetan Buddhism. Looking at a distance, the monastery is like a heap of rice, consisting of a group of white buildings layer upon layer.

In the afternoon, visit the Sera Monastery, the second largest monastery in Tibet which is well-known for the excellent debating of Buddhist doctrines among lamas.

After that, turn to visit the nearby Norbulingka Park, the most beautiful and largest man-made park in Tibet. This park has been built for 200 years and used to be the Summer Palace of religious leaders of the region.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will come to get you at the hotel lobby, and then you will head for the second biggest city in Tibet - Shigatse.

During the journey, you can Admire the Gampala pass (4790 m) on the way, and get a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m), which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains. Then continue to drive west towards Gyantse. In Gyantse, tourists will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. After one and a half hour's drive, you will arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet.

Today, you will drive along the Friendship Way westwards from Shigatse to Everest Base Camp via Lhatse. Before leaving Shigatse, you will pay a visit to the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the living place of Panchen Lama after the 4th Panchen (1567 - 1662) took charge of the temple. It also enshrines the largest copper Buddha statue in the world with a height of 26.2 meters (86 feet).

After that, you will proceed to Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, passing by the Tsola Pass with an altitude of 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) and Gyatsola Pass with an altitude of 5,248 meters (17,217 feet), and then arrive at Everest Base Camp finally. What's more, if time and weather permit, you will have chance to enjoy the sunset of golden Everest Peak at the camp.

In the morning, you can see the sunrise of Everest Peak if weather permits at the lodging area. Today, explore Tashilunpo monastery of Gelug Sect, the seat of the Panchen Lama, built in 1447. The monastery houses a giant statue of the Maitreya Buddha - the biggest gilded statue of Maitreya (Buddha of the future) in the world and a tomb of all the Panchen Lama, containing jewels and gold. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Lhasa, which will take around 6 hours.
