We pick up travelers from hotel in downtown Chongqing, then get to our first stop-Dazu Rock Carvings. Dazu rock carvings is a massive ancient Buddhsim stone carvings right on our way to Leshan, it's 800 years old since Song Dynasty. Over 10'000 statues were carved on vertical cliff side, pretty much represents Chinese ancient religious art style and carving skill. Meawhile it's also a Buddhism holy site for all believers. It's been on the UNESCO world heritage list since 1999. Excursion in there takes 2 hours. Lunch will be at a local farm restaurant with fresh country cuisines. Then we'll move on to the next-Leshan city, roughly 3 hours driving through the pretty country side of Sichuan province. Upon arrival we'll get our dinner in downtown, then check in our hotel in Leshan city. We'll take a tour on Leshan Giant Buddha today, an incredible manmade marvel with over 1'000 years history since Tang Dynasty. The whole thing were carved on a giant rock by river side, the main statue is over 71 meters tall(210 feet ), right across the Dadoo river from downtown Leshan, constantly gives his blessing to this riverside city. Leshan Giant Buddha has been incribed on UNESCO world heritage list since 1996. We'll take a walking around the entire Buddha mountain, learn all these history and culture behind the Giant Buddha. Excursion takes 3 hours roughly, moderate intensity. Then we'll get our lunch nearby the Giant Buddha, try some local specialty.
