You will be picked up from your hotel in Xi'an by a driver and transferred to Xi'an North Railway Station to catch express train to Pingyao Gucheng (approx. 3-hour ride). Upon arrival your guide will meet you at the exit and transfer to the local guesthouse located in the old town of Pingyao. You can choose to sleep on the Chinese traditional bed Kang and taste local beef and noodles. After lunch you will tour the Old City Wall and financial institutions. For dinner your guide can introduce some local restaurants for you to try some authentic Shaanxi cuisine. Stay overnight in Pingyao.

After breakfast you will be taken to Shuanglin Temple located 6 km southwest of Pingyao. Constructed about 1,500 years ago, Shuanglin Temple covers 15,000 sq meter and is divided into east and west parts. There are well-preserved Buddha and Skanda statues that were inscribed as UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site with Pingyao Old Town in 1997. After lunch you will be transferred to Pingyao Gucheng Railway Station to catch express train back Xi'an North Railway Station. Upon arrival the driver will meet you at the station and transfer you back to your Xi'an hotel.
