Tala Game Reserve spans some 3,000 hectares, encompassing a mix of acacia thornveld, open grassland and a sensitive wetland, which attracts more than 380 bird species, and plenty of big game, including the rhino, kudu, hippo, giraffe and wildebeest and many more. At Tala we go on a 4x4 Game Drive moving to different points within the game reserve in search of animals.

FromHowick Falls we travel a short distance to Nelson Mandela Capture Site. Here we visit the Museum and the world renowned Nelson Mandela sculpture. Nelson Mandela was arrested on 5 August 1962 outside Howick, Natal, South Africa. He spent the next 27 years of his life in prison. The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this moment in history with a visitor centre and a world renowned sculpture.

We go hiking at the Monks Cowl. The Monk's Cowl Nature Reserve with its breathtaking vistas of sweeping grasslands on the lower reaches, to magnificent towering cliffs and waterfalls cascading for hundreds of metres makes this an area of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park worth visiting. The hiking is flexible depending on one's wishes and level of fitness. It can be anything from 2 hours to 6 hours.
