Depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel on the Little Karoo and R62 wine route, the world's longest wine route on the way to Oudtshoorn. Departing from Cape Town, you'll venture northeast towards Worcester, where the R62 officially begins. As you continue along this scenic route, you'll pass through charming towns like Robertson and Montagu, known for their vineyards and hot springs. The road winds through the dramatic landscapes of the Klein Karoo, offering views of towering mountains and expansive valleys. Oudtshoorn, famed for its ostrich farms and the Cango Caves, awaits at the end of this memorable road trip, promising a glimpse into the region's rich cultural and natural heritage.

From Oudtshoorn proceed to Cango Caves for a guided tour of the ancient caves. A tour of the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn is an awe-inspiring journey into a subterranean wonderland. In Botlierskop we get into an open 4x4 vehicle to begin a guided game safari. From Botlierskop we take a short lunch break. Thereafter we proceed to Plettenberg Bay for hiking at Robberg Nature Reserve. Hiking in Robberg Nature Reserve is a captivating experience that combines rugged coastal beauty with rich biodiversity. Located near Plettenberg Bay, the reserve offers trails that wind along dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and ancient rock formations, with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean. From Robberg Nature Reserve we do a brief tour of Plettenberg Bay. A tour of Plettenberg Bay, affectionately known as "Plett," offers a delightful blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. From Knysna heads we do a tour of Knysna Quays Waterfront. A tour of Knysna Quays Waterfront offers a vibrant mix of scenic beauty and leisure activities. From Knysna Quays we travel to Hermanus. This is the world capital for whale watching. We do whale watching - in season.

From Hermanus we proceed to Benguela Cove Wine Estate for wine tasting of 5 different wines. World class wine tasting experience.

From Benguela Cove Wine estate we proceed to see African Penguins at Betty's Bay. A tour of Betty's Bay to see African penguins is a delightful wildlife experience on South Africa’s southern coast. At the Stony Point Nature Reserve, you’ll encounter a lively colony of these charming penguins in their natural habitat. The reserve features well-maintained boardwalks and viewing platforms that allow you to observe the penguins up close as they waddle along the shore, nest in the rocks, and interact with each other. The picturesque coastal scenery adds to the charm of the visit, making it a memorable opportunity to witness these unique and endangered birds in action.

From Betty's Bay we then travel on the scenic whale coast back to Cape town. Traveling on the Whale Coast from Betty's Bay to Cape Town offers a scenic and exhilarating journey along South Africa’s stunning southern coastline. Starting in Betty's Bay, you'll meander through picturesque seaside towns and rugged landscapes, with opportunities to spot whales during their migration season. We arrive in Cape Town at 6pm to conclude the 3 day garden route tour.
