Then stop to enjoy a nice lunch at a local restaurant and sample some typical Chinese cuisine. After lunch, visit the Lama Temple, the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. It was built in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) as the residence of the Emperor Yongzheng before he ascended the throne. In the year 1744, the residence was completely converted into a lamasery. Then you will be transferred back to your Beijing downtown hotel. If you choose tour ends in Shanghai, you will be transferred to Beijing South Railway Station and take the bullet train back to Shanghai. The driver will wait for you at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and transfer to your Shanghai hotel.
