8-Day Silk Road Tour from Kashgar to Dunhuang, Zhangye etc.

Arrival Kashgar and transferred to your hotel. If time permits, you can visit the biggest bazaar in China, Kashgar Bazaar. Otherwise you will visit it next day.

Start the city tour with your tour guide. Visit the old mosque to learn the history of Uighur people.

Afterwards, you will visit the well-known family tomb which is well-preserved its impressive architecture.

Visit Animal Bazaar (only on Sundays), and old town with local guide. Catch 2-hour evening flight to Urumqi. Upon arrival, transferred to hotel in Urumqi.

Drive one hour to Tianchi, Heavenly Lake in English, to visit the stunning mountain lake in the Mt Tianshan. Then you will take 4-hour ride to Turpan that is a hub city on the ancient Silk Road.

Visit the ancient City of Gaochang that was a ruin for the Gaochang Kingdom 700 years ago,

Visit Bezeklik Grottoes afterwards, though most of them were damaged but still can tell its splendid Buddhism culture,

Visit the pretty minaret that was built in 1777AD with a traditional Uyghur architecture.

Visit Karez System Musuem where you will learn how the local people suivive in the desert.

Visit the ruin city that was built on a 30-meter high platform. There are still well-preserved houses, temples, and lanes etc.

Take a morning fast train for 4 hours from Turpan to Liuyuan where you will take 1.5-hour ride to Dunhuang. Visit the Singing Sand Dunes and Crescent Moon Spring in the afternoon. You can explore the night market if you are interested.

Visit the highlight of the Silk Road, Mogao Grottoes. Then you will be transferred 5 hours to Jiayuguan by car.

Visit Jiayuguan Fort in the morning. Then you will take 3-hour car ride to Zhangye Rainbow Mountain. Later, you will be transferred to Zhangye hotel.

Visit Zhangye Rainbow Danxia, which is renowned for its colorful clays.

Transferred to Zhangye Airport or train station, the tour ends
