Aborigine’s village and Lata Iskandar waterfall Lata Iskandar is a waterfall along the trunk road from Tapah to Cameron Highlands.The waterfall cascades over several tiers of granite slopes, with the last drop at 25 meters high flowing into a small pool. Nestled along the main road facing Lata Iskandar, provide shopping opportunities for ethnic souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, strange herbs, tropical fruits and even aphrodisiacs.

Heritage Boah Tea Factory Is the largest black tea manufacturer in Malaysia, with both domestic and international distribution owned by BOH Plantations. The BOH Tea Plantation, which is located at Cameron Highlands is also the largest tea plantation in Malaysia. BOH Plantations was founded in 1929 by J. A. Russell, a British-born British-educated businessman during the British colonial era in Malaya. Russell arrived in Kuala Lumpur at age seven, in 1890; the primary export was then tin. Prior to BOH, Russell had worked in the Straits Trading Company, learning to speak several Chinese dialects (along with Malay) and made contacts with wealthy Chinese tin miners. Besides investing in tin, Russell and his brothers (Philip, Donald, and Robert) invested in the nascent rubber industry in 1908. J. A. and Philip also invested in railway-related construction, including the new when Kuala Lumpur railway station. In 1913, Russell purchased almost a third of the real estate in the town of Ipoh.

Chew Jetty The Clan Jetties of George Town only came about in the late 19th century. Part of the heritage trail, the clan jetties are a unique sight to witness as you walk through a wooden path on stilts with wooden houses beside you that are still inhabited by the locals till today. After the construction of the Quay in 1882, the waterfront was developed with short public landing stages or jetties. Settlements grew on these foundations and they were used for the loading and unloading of goods and for the mooring of sampans (boats). Gradually, each jetty became identified and dominated by certain clans and over time more huts sprung up. Be awed by the experience of going through a village atmosphere in the heart of the city. Walk through this quaint village made of wooden houses built on top of wooden stilts. Since Penang lost its free port status, most inhabitants here now dwell in many different trades.

Lunch at Famous Nasikandar Nasi kandar dates back to the 18th Century when hordes of Indian Muslims migrated to Malaysia from South India during the British colonisation. They brought with them “nasi” (rice in Malay), placed in a wooden basket, and carried alongside curries in pots balanced on a vendor’s shoulders by fastening these to a bamboo pole (kandar) – hence the name nasi kandar.Essentially, these Indian Muslims made a living selling their homemade curries and rice to dock labourers at Weld Quay in Georgetown, Penang. Among the dishes they paired with rice were fish curry, beef curry, boiled eggs and ladies’ fingers.

Penang Hill by Train Visit this great place with your loved ones. Penang Hill is a hill resort comprising a group of peaks on Penang Island, Malaysia. It is located in Air Itam, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of the city centre of George Town. Penang Hill is also known by the Malay name Bukit Bendera, which actually refers to Flagstaff Hill, the most developed peak. Penang Hill covers a number of hills, with the highest point at Western Hill which is 833 metres (2,733 ft) above sea level. The hill stands out prominently from the lowlands as a hilly and forested area. It was used as a retreat during the British colonial period, and is now a popular tourist destination in Penang. The top of the hill is accessible via the Penang Hill Railway from its base station at Jalan Bukit Bendera, Air Itam. To date, this funicular railway system is the only one of its kind in Malaysia, transporting over a million visitors to the peak of Penang Hill as of 2014.

Chowrasta Market Chowrasta Market is one of Penang’s oldest, dating back to the mid-19th century, and still one of its liveliest morning markets. Located in George Town’s picturesque old downtown, the market is still very accessible to visitors whilst retaining its very local characteristics. The Kek Lok Si Temple Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia. It is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, and is also an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia. The entire complex of temples was built over a period from 1890–1930, an inspirational initiative of Beow Lean, the Abbot. The main draw in the complex is the striking seven-storey Pagoda of Rama VI (Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas) with 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha, and the 36.57 metres (120.0 ft) tall bronze statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Mahayana Buddhism, Theravada Buddhism and traditional Chinese rituals blend into a harmonious whole, both in the temple architecture and artwork as well as in the daily activities of worshipers.

Gurney Drive Is a deluge of hawker delights and exciting restaurants that come alive at nighttime, giving the unique experience of dining by the sea. Gurney Drive was named after Sir Henry Gurney, a Malayan High Commissioner who was assassinated by the guerrillas of the Malayan Communist Party during the Emergency period in the early 1950s.
