Drive to the spectacular Panorama Route
We will begin the journey and drive through some of the most scenic areas of the Eastern part of South Africa. Have lunch at a local restaurant and then drive to view Pinnacle Rock and then to experience the amazing view from God’s Window (Wonder View). We then visit the Berlin Falls, where numerous local arts and crafts are for sale. (Lunch en-route, restaurants available) From here we visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and then head the Blyde River Canyon, where we overnight in a chalet at the resort: Forever Blyde Canyon (or similar).

Gods Window the view onto the escarpment forest is framed by the vertical cliffs of a deep gorge. From this ‘window’, a paved path leads along the escarpment and includes a fairly stiff walk to Quartzkop and the ‘Rain Forest’ with its natural garden below a canopy of trees and brightly coloured aloes in the winter. All set off by outcrops of sandstone weathered into haunting prehistoric shapes. Wonder View is just a couple of minutes up the road from God’s Window, providing a similar view as the top viewpoint without the climbing and the crowds.

The Berlin Falls is a waterfall in Mpumalanga, South Africa. They are located close to God's Window and the highest waterfall in South Africa's Mpumalanga province, Lisbon Falls. They are less than a tenth of the height of South Africa's tallest waterfall, the Tugela Falls, and are better known for their beauty.

This natural water feature marks the beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. Through countless eons the swirling whirlpools which occur as the Treur River plunges into the Blyde River caused waterborne sand and rock to grind huge, cylindrical potholes into the bedrock of the river.

The Blyde River Canyon is a 26km long Canyon located in Mpumalanga, South Africa. It is the one of the larger canyons on Earth but much smaller than those of Asia, the Grand Canyon and the Fish River Canyon. Incorporating the third largest canyon in the world and impressive lush scenery, Blyde River Canyon Reserve (also officially known as Motlatse Canyon Provincial Nature Reserve) offers visitors a remarkable experience. This Mpumalanga Nature Reserve, South Africa is near Kruger National Park and covers 29 000 hectares stretching from the misty highlands down to the hotter and drier lowveld at the Blyde Dam.

Boat game ride on the Blyde Dam, off to Kruger Park.
We leave after breakfast to take a boat trip on the Blyde Dam. An interpretation tour will take us to the Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon. The Kadishi Tufa waterfall, at 200 meters (around 660 feet) in height, is the second tallest tufa waterfall on earth. Completing this we head to the heart of the Kruger National Park through the Orpen gate, watching the game as we head to the Satara Rest Camp (or similar, like Letaba or Olifants), which is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. Once at your camp, you will have a popular 3-hour sunset game drive in an open safari vehicle where the amazing African sunsets can be seen, and return at night while viewing some nocturnal species, then dinner at the restaurant. Overnight in a bungalow.

Kruger National Park game drives
Starting the game drive in our own vehicle early after coffee, you explore every possible opportunity to view the spectacular wildlife scenery. We take the best scenic routes and drive to the south of Kruger Park to get more opportunities to see the Big 5. You overnight at the Lower Sabie camp (or similar, like Skukuza or Berg en Dal). Lower Sabie graces the banks of the Sabie River, one of the few perennial rivers to flow through the Kruger National Park. Visitors cannot but feel soothed by the view towards the river and the Lebombo Mountains beyond. Watching the endless procession of animals coming to drink at the Sabie River establishes a sense of one's own place in the eternal cycle. You have to choose to do an optional activity like a sunset game drive, a game drive to a bush braai or a night game drive.
