Þingvellir National Park is the first point of the famous Golden Circle route. This is not only a geological marvel where Öxará waterfall (or Öxarárfoss) and Silfra Fissure were born out of the continental drift, splitting the earth‘s crust at various locations but it is also an important historical and political site. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage. The park´s visit is free, however, you have to pay a Parking fee, which is not included in the tour´s price.

You go for a Rye Bread tour at 11.45 AM where the dough is cooked on the very ground by the geothermal heat and you can, of course, taste it! You then soak in the deliciously warm waters of Fontana Bath from which you have a panoramic view of the lake.

You next visit Geysir where the geyser Strokkur shoots its warm water column up to 15 meters in the air. Geysir is the second point on the famous Golden Circle route that you are scheduled to visit.

You complete the Golden Circle with a visit to the mighty waterfall Gullfoss which chute impressively drops down in a narrow gorge from 32 meters high. We also recommend you visit Friðheimar Restaurant and Farm, famous for its horse breeding and horse show activities, and its tomato farm entirely run with geothermal energy using biological pest controls. Friðheimar is open for visits and has a restaurant where you can taste their tomatoes' specialties. Note that this is only our recommendation, the admission fee is not included in the tour price. Booking in advance needs to be done by you either by e-mail to fridheimar@fridheimar.is or by a phone call to (+354) 486 8894. If you chose to come here, it will take you 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the driving time from Gullfoss Waterfall.

You next visit Kerid volcanic crater, which is located just a 20-minute drive away from Eldhestar. The crater is approximately 3000 years old and is covered with vivid colored grounds in the summer. The crater is a lovely site in its winter coat, particularly when its inner lake catches the sunlight on frosty days. To walk up to the crater, there is a small admission fee to pay, which is not included in the tour price.

Seljalandsfoss is a 60 meters high waterfall behind which you can walk. It is a very picturesque site and is therefore widely photographed and featured. Note that entrance to the waterfall area is free; however, there is a parking fee you must pay, which is not included in the tour price.

Depending on your flight time departure, you might like to visit the capital further and see the Sun Voyager, a famous sculpture by the sea which represents freedom and hope, Hallgrímskirkja church, whose architecture was inspired by basalt columns in the Icelandic nature, or Perlan, a museum, and restaurant perched on top of 4 water tanks. After some time in Reykjavík, you head towards CampEasy's office for the return of your camper! The famous Sun Voyager sculpture has been created by Jón Gunnar Árnason, who, through his piece, wanted to convey a message of hope and freedom. The statue is placed right by the sea with majestic mountains in the background. It is for sure something not to miss!
