At the apartheid museum travelers will get to have a reflection of how life was during apartheid through to the transition to a multi racial democracy in the new South Africa thanks to the exhibitions that give a detailed account of the segregation and minority rule that was imposed on black Africans by the whites from petty apartheid like being barred from sharing the same entrances to places, swimming pools, bathrooms and transport amongst others to severe forms of segregation like being dispossessed of land, being deprived of quality education, being denied economic opportunities and being denied the right to vote for leaders of their choice. Among the 22 exhibitions in the museum is the most popular one of Nelson Mandela`s life map whose release from prison marked the end of the apartheid era and the transition to a multi-racial democracy which gave South Africa its nickname The Rainbow Nation.
