This day the Yangtze River Cruise Ship will first enter the Xiling Gorge, which is famous for torrential water and this morning's shore excursion is a unique ride along the Shennong Stream on a sampan - a traditional longboat rowed by expert Tujia boatmen. As we gently float through this stunning riverine gorge flanked by verdant forest, you'll see evidence of early settlements in the form of hanging coffins stowed high within the limestone cliffs. After that, you will go back to the ship and continue the cruise to the Wu Gorge.

The Wu Gorge with famous lofty and misty peaks on two sides. It is the largest and the longest gorge along the way. This gorge is full of craggy grotesque rocks, and the entire pass looks like a winding natural gallery. Later, you will enter Qutang Gorge, the last passage of the Three Gorges, which is the shortest but the grandest one.

White Emperor City is usually served as an optional excursion for a cruise(CNY290/pp/tour). Located on the north side of Qutang Gorge, White Emperor City offers the best angle to view the magnificent Kui Gate. Known as the Poem City, White Emperor City has attracted many poets come and left many famous poems. What makes this place known to outside is the historical story of “Entrusting Zhuge Liang with an Orphan in Baidi Town”.

Today will be a relaxing day for you. In the morning can choose to rest on the deck or participate in some activities in the schedule. An onshore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City will be arranged in the afternoon. The Fengdu Ghost City has a 1,900 year old site is interesting and meaningful to know Chinese culture, telling the traditional Chinese belief of that those pure spirits would be rewarded and those sinful ones would be subject to severe punishments with many statues and scenes in the traditional architectures and the Captain's farewell party will be held in the evening.
