A road trip from Durban to Mthatha along the Wild Coast offers breathtaking scenery, rich cultural experiences, and plenty of adventure along the way. We get to see African villages and also meet the locals along the way. This portion covers Kwa Zulu Natal and the Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa. When we reach Mthatha, go for a guided tour of the Nelson Mandela Museum for a glimpse into the life of the iconic leader. Overnight at the Savoy Hotel and Conference Centre in Mthatha or similar hotel.

Along the route, stop at Mvezo, birthplace of Nelson Mandela. See the monuments erected of this iconic leader. Tour and explore the area before proceeding with journey to East London. The journey from Mthatha to East London offers a taste of the Eastern Cape's diverse landscapes and cultural heritage, many African villages, animals and locals along the route.

On this day we depart from East London and head to Addo National for a day in the bush in a safari in Addo National Park. We explore this vast game reserve, the 3rd largest in South Africa with the biggest elephant herd.

We depart from Port Elizabeth and head to Bloukrans Bridge. This is where there is the world's highest bungy jump - 216m (own expense)

From Bloukrans Bridge we head to Robberg Nature Reserve, one of the best in the world. Here we do hiking. Robberg Nature Reserve is one of the most important and iconic experiences in Plettenberg Bay. It is one of the most recognisable and traversed peninsulas in the world. The beauty of Robberg Nature Reserve is iconic. A World Heritage Site and National Monument, steeped in history, with prehistoric rocks and Stone Age artefacts, Robberg attracts visitors from all over the globe. The picturesque peninsula is home to a wealth of fynbos, flora and ocean life, all of which dazzle the senses.

From Robberg Nature Reserve we head to Plettenberg. We visit some of the white sandy beaches. We relax and swim as we need.

The Knysna Heads are a must-visit destination for nature lovers, offering a perfect blend of scenic beauty, adventure, and ecological diversity along the Garden Route of South Africa. There are opportunities for photos here.

The Knysna Quays Waterfront is a vibrant and bustling area located in the heart of Knysna. The Knysna Quays Waterfront is situated along the scenic Knysna Estuary, offering stunning views of the surrounding hillsides and waterfront.

The lagoon is ideal for boating and sailing, with plenty of opportunities to rent kayaks, canoes, sailboats, or take guided boat tours to explore its tranquil waters (own expense)

We depart from Knysna and travel on the Garden Route. We pass Wilderness and Mossel Bay. We also pass Swellendam. Our next stop and tour is at Africa's southern-most tip, Cape Agulhas.

From Cape Agulhas we travel to Hermanus for the night

After breakfast, we tour Hermanus. In season, we do whale viewing, one of the best places for whale viewing.

At Benguela Cove Wine Estate we do wine tasting of 5 different wines.

From Benguela Cove Wine Estate we travel to Betty's Bay. We see the endangered African Penguins.

We then travel on the Whale Coast Route until we reach Cape Town in late afternoon, 6pm to conclude the 7 day tour.
