Your Tibetan guide and driver will greet you at the airport or train station and present you with a Kada (the traditional Tibetan ceremonial white scarf) to Welcome you to Tibet :) Then will be drive around 40-50 minutes to Lhasa city if you take plane to Lhasa or drive 20 minutes to Lhasa city if you board train to Lhasa and transferred to your hotel. Along the way, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of Yarlung Tsangpo River, Lhasa River, and the typical Tibetan villages and highland barley seeds farms. Later your guide will introduce you to the other members of your group once all are in Lhasa. And will discuss about tour schedule in Tibet. Then will show you some of local, Chinese and continental dish restaurants for the dinner. On your arrival of the first day must be take an easy, relax and keep hydrated by drinking warm water or home temperature water. Will be very helpful to acclimatize to the high altitude.

In the morning, we will head to Drepung Monastery, which means “Monastery of Rice Heap” in Tibetan. The entire complex is large in scale, with white buildings clustering and covering the mountainside. Drepung Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery and housed over 10,000 monks at its peak. From the First to the Fifth Dalai Lama, all held their enthronement ceremonies here, and every Dalai Lama has regarded Drepung as their “mother monastery,” making it also the highest-ranking monastery within the Gelug School.

In the afternoon, we will visit Sera Monastery, famous for its unique Buddhist debating sessions. Debating is a traditional practice in Tibetan Buddhism, where monks engage in lively and intense dialogues to discuss Buddhist doctrines through questions and answers. You will have the opportunity to witness this dynamic and intellectual religious practice, experiencing the profound scholarly atmosphere and distinctive monastic culture of Tibetan Buddhism.

Today, you will visit the most famous Potala Palace, which is the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture. Potala Palace was the winter palace of successive Dalai lamas. In possession of rich cultural heritage, Potala Palace is known as the "pearl on the roof of the world. At the top the palace called golden roofs, you can have a bird-eye view of the whole of Lhasa. In the distance there are undulating mountain ranges, the beautiful Lhasa River, tracts of fields, tree-shaded villages and the glistening Jokhang Temple.

At noon, the tour guide will bring you to a good restaurant to have lunch and have a rest. In the afternoon, we will go to visit Jokhang Temple in the center of the Lhasa old town. Jokhang Temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims since the early days.

After that, you will take a walk around the Barkhor Street - one of the most devotional circuits as well as a crowded central market of Lhasa. Barkhor Street is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it‘s also a must-see place for visitors.

Today, we depart from Lhasa with all your luggage and begin your two-day journey to explore the ancient city and the highland barley storehouses of Tibet. Your route will take us through stunning landscapes approximately 50 km outside Lhasa. We will ascend to the summit of the Khampala Pass, where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake is located in Nangkar Tse County in the Shannan region, less than 100 kilometers from Lhasa. It is considered one of Tibet’s three holy lakes, along with Namtso and Manasarovar. Nestled at the foot of the mountains to the south, its beauty is unparalleled in southern Tibet. Regarded as a sacred lake by Tibetans, Yamdrok Lake offers clear, ethereal, and dreamlike scenery that is a must-see for every visitor.

After visiting Yamdrok Lake, we will head to the Karola Glacier. This magnificent glacier stretches down from the majestic Mount Nojin Kangtsang, offering a breathtaking sight of ice and snow against the stark landscape. You’ll have the chance to see the glacier up close, take photos, and feel the cool, crisp air of one of Tibet’s most accessible and impressive glaciers. It’s a perfect way to experience the powerful natural beauty of the region. Then, we will continue driving along the lakeshore, passing traditional villages, before stopping for a one-hour lunch at a local restaurant.After lunch, we resume your drive toward the ancient city. The journey will take us across several high mountain passes, past glaciers, ancient monasteries, and vast fields of canola flowers and highland barley. This route is ideal for travelers interested in experiencing diverse Tibetan culture and capturing breathtaking photographs of Tibet’s natural and cultural wonders.

In the morning, you will leave Shigatse to Lhatse, a small town located 150 km from Shigatse, and you may have lunch in the local restaurant. After a short rest, you will go ahead to Tingri. You will pass through the first high mountain pass - Tsola Pass(4,600m), then the second one-Gyatsola Pass(5,248m), the mountain pass of Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, with countless prayer flags flying in the wind. Afterward, you will keep ascending to Gawula Pass (5,198m), where you can enjoy the panorama of the Himalayas. Then you will drive along the zigzag road to the Everest Base Camp. Seen from here, Mt. Everest appears like a lofty pyramid surrounded by mountains that touch the sky. On sunny days, a pile of thick clouds, just like a white flag floats lightly above the peak, which is known to be the miracle of 'The Highest Flag Cloud in the World'. Nowadays, with the golden travel boom to Mt. Everest is gradually becoming a highlight for the tourists in its own right.

You are welcome to rise early this morning, if weather permits, and witness the magnificent sunrise over Mount Everest from Everest Base Camp. The golden glow illuminating the world’s highest peak is a truly unforgettable experience. After enjoying the views and taking photos, we will begin the scenic drive back to Shigatse. Along the way, you’ll be treated to ever-changing landscapes of vast plateaus, rugged mountains, and traditional Tibetan villages. We'll make brief stops at viewpoints so you can fully appreciate the beauty of the Himalayan region. Upon arrival in Shigatse, you can relax and unwind at the hotel or take a casual stroll in the local area.Today offers a peaceful yet inspiring conclusion to your high-altitude adventure before returning to the comforts of Tibet’s second-largest city.

We will depart today from your hotel in Lhasa around 08:00. The rode condition is pretty good but because of the speed-limit, we will spend about 6hrs on the road. Tashilunpo Monastery is one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelugpa (or Yellow Hat Sect) in Tibet. Also called the Heap of Glory, the monastery is located at the foot of Drolmari (Tara's Mountain), Shigatse. Founded by the First Dailai Lama in 1447, the monastery's structure was expanded by the Fourth and successive Panchen Lamas. It covers an area of nearly 300,000 square meters. The main structures found in the monastery are Maitreya Chapel, Panchen Lama's Palace and Kelsang Temple. Tashilhunpo is the seat of Panchen Lama since the Fourth Panchen Lama took charge in the monastery, and there are now nearly 800 lamas.
