Why Travelers Love This
Give the children an adventure, and give the parents a day off too. Not every day of a family trip to Tokyo needs to be filled with sightseeing. In the middle of a busy trip, this tour gives your family a “day off during your trip.” For 22 years, Samurai Guide Sho supported passengers as a conductor on the JR Chuo Line. Now it is your family’s turn to be the “passengers.” Travel comfortably with Sho aboard the JR Chuo Line Green Car (premium seating) and leave Tokyo’s tourist areas behind. The train is not just transportation. It is part of the journey: a transfer from tourist Tokyo to everyday Tokyo. For one day, why not stop rushing between attractions and enjoy a day off as a Tokyo family? Spend the day in a vast park loved by local families. Children can run, climb, cycle, ride boats, and make memories, while parents can simply enjoy the day with them. Take home more than another sightseeing memory: the feeling of having spent a day as a Tokyo family.

Itinerary

10 minutes
Stop 1
Departure from Tokyo Station is also available. This meeting point is convenient for families staying near Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Otemachi, Nihonbashi, Ginza, and other major central Tokyo areas. There is no need to travel to Shinjuku before the tour. Your family can meet Sho at Tokyo Station and board the JR Chuo Line Green Car together. This reduces morning travel and transfers, making it easier for families with young children or strollers to begin the journey to western Tokyo comfortably.
Stop 2
10 minutes
Stop 2
The standard meeting point is Shinjuku Station. Meet Samurai Guide Sho, who served as a JR Chuo Line conductor for 22 years, and begin your journey with support for tickets, Suica, ticket gates, elevators, transfers, and boarding positions. From the beginning, your family can leave Tokyo’s train travel to a former conductor, even when traveling with children and strollers. From Shinjuku, leave the crowded city center and travel toward Western Tokyo, where local families spend their days off.
Stop 3
6 hours
Stop 3
Travel by JR Chuo Line Green Car (premium seating) to a spacious park in western Tokyo. Before boarding, Sho can help your family buy bento boxes, rice balls, snacks, juice, or other refreshments to enjoy at your seats. Step away from crowded sightseeing areas and slow your pace and mind in nature. The park offers playgrounds, open lawns, family cycling, boats, seasonal scenery, and places to eat. Sho guides you along stroller-friendly routes and points out toilets, diaper-changing facilities, and rest areas. He adjusts activities, lunch, breaks, and timing around your children’s energy, interests, and mood, creating a relaxed day instead of trying to fit everything in. After the park, return to central Tokyo aboard the JR Chuo Line Green Car. Children can rest while you look through photos or enjoy a drink or snack together. The tour ends at Shinjuku Station. If continuing toward Tokyo Station, your family may remain in the same Green Car after Sho gets off at Shinjuku.
