then continue to the Marble Boat--a foreign style superstructure which was supposed to be a symbol of stability of the Qing Dynasty.

After a lunch in the local restaurant, heading directly to Fragrant Hill. First built in 1186, this 395 acre stretch of forestry, hills, and lakes has been enjoyed by Beijing's higher ups for centuries.

Explore the dozens of ancient sights that dot the park, such as Biyun Temple or the Vajrasana Pagoda, then take the cable car to the top of Xianglu for stunning views. This lovely wooded park is a favorite of locals, especially in autumn to see the maple trees with their striking red leaves. At the end of the trip you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
