Why Travelers Love This
Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburbs of Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. We’ll continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town’s best-kept secrets. Here there is an option to take a short boat trip to Seal Island to view the Cape Fur Seals, which inhabit the island. From here we travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve home of indigenous fauna and flora. Here we can see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, Reebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world’s largest breeding grounds for tortoises. Birdwatchers, too, will find many fine species to observe.

After pick-up from your hotel, our journey begins with a stop at Bo-Kaap, known for its historic colourful houses that played a significant role during the apartheid and post-apartheid era. It is also home to one of the oldest and largest mosques in South Africa. Bo-Kaap, also known as the Malay Quarter, is famous for its Cape Malay cuisine. Here, you will have a brief stop to walk around, take photos, or, if you are a food lover, purchase authentic spices to take back home.

Enjoy one of the most breathtaking drives along the Atlantic coast on the south-western tip of Africa. This scenic route, featuring remarkable and historic engineering, was developed in the early 20th century to connect Cape Town with the southern suburbs. Here, you will have a brief stop to take in the views and learn more about the history and craftsmanship behind this iconic coastal drive.

Walk or take the funicular (at your own cost, approx. R40–R60) up to South Africa’s oldest lighthouse for a 360-degree view of the national park. There are three ways to reach the top. Along the coastline, a paved path with stone staircases offers the most scenic views. From the car park, a paved route leads all the way up with a steady but manageable climb. For a quicker option, the Flying Dutchman funicular reaches the viewpoint in just three minutes for a small fee, offering a convenient alternative to walking.

The Cape of Good Hope is often referred to as the corner of Africa, where the cold Atlantic and warm Indian Oceans meet. It is, however, the most south-westerly point of the African continent. The area offers scenic hiking trails to the summit, making it ideal for both adventure and sightseeing. Another popular attraction is the Cape of Good Hope sign, where visitors often queue to take photos. It is said that “if there is no queue, there is no hope.”

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony is home to thousands of endangered African penguins, often called “tuxedo swimmers.” Here, you can walk along the beach, observe them up close, and take memorable photos of these flightless birds in their natural habitat. This is the final stop of the day. You will enjoy lunch at Simon’s Town Harbour, before continuing your journey back to Cape Town via Muizenberg Beach, where you will stop briefly for photos. Afterwards, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
