We will take the cable car up to the mountaintop square of Baiyun Mountain, one of Guangzhou’s most famous natural landmarks. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and see how Guangzhou spreads between mountains, rivers, and modern high-rises. This is a relaxing start to the tour and a good place to understand the city’s geography.

At Yuexiu Park, we will visit the remains of Guangzhou’s ancient city wall and Zhenhai Tower, one of the most important historical landmarks in the city. This stop helps travelers understand Guangzhou’s old defensive system, its long urban history, and the symbolic role of Yuexiu Hill in the city’s development. We will also see the famous Five Rams Statue, one of the icons of Guangzhou.

Shamian Island was once the foreign concession area of Guangzhou and still preserves many European-style buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. During the walk, we will explore the island’s colonial architecture and discuss Guangzhou’s role in the Canton trade, the Opium War period, and the city’s connection with Britain, France, the United States, and other foreign powers.

Shangxiajiu is one of Guangzhou’s traditional commercial streets, known for its Lingnan-style arcade buildings, old local shops, and Cantonese street food culture. Here we will see how old Guangzhou’s business life developed and, depending on time and your preference, we may also try some traditional snacks or desserts nearby.

At Lychee Bay, we will visit Liwan Lake and the surrounding old Xiguan neighborhood, once known for its canals, wealthy merchant families, and traditional Cantonese houses. We will also visit a Taoist temple with around 900 years of history, giving travelers a deeper look at Guangzhou’s local beliefs, community life, and traditional culture.

Huacheng Square is the center of Guangzhou’s modern city axis. From here, we can see the Canton Tower, Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, and many landmark skyscrapers in Zhujiang New Town. This stop shows the contrast between old Guangzhou and the city’s new financial and cultural center.

Huangpu Ancient Village was once connected with Guangzhou’s ancient maritime trade and old port history. We will explore the old village lanes, historic ancestral halls, and Qing Dynasty-style clan architecture. This stop offers a quieter and more local side of Guangzhou, away from the modern city center, and helps travelers understand the city’s trading past and family-clan culture.
