Barong dance is the classic example of Balinese way of acting out mythology, resulting in myth and history being blended into one reality. The barong is a strange creature, half shaggy dog, half lion, propelles by two men like a circus clown-horse. The widow-witch rangda is bad though and certainly not the sort of thing you'd like to meet on a midnight stroll through the rice paddies. The barong dance is truly a triumphant display of bright colors and graceful movements.

Tirta Empul Temple is a holy spring water temple located in Tampaksiring Village, it is about 1 hour ride from Denpasar city. It is set in the dale and encircled by hill. In the west side of this temple, there is an Indonesian President palace which has been found by the first president of Indonesia. The rice terrace has a beautiful design with exquisite hollowing rice fields which are precisely located on the bank of the hill. In this area, you will see the Balinese farmer attend to their rice field using the system irrigation called Subak. Tourists can stop on the roadside to enjoy the view, take photos, and also do swing activity.
