The post office is housed within a beautiful Tudor mansion; complete with spires and a clock tower. The bright orange roofs and red bricked walls of the sprawling building form a colorful contrast with the manicured lawns and perfectly pruned hedges. Constructed in 1894 for the sole purpose of dealing with the mail of the British Colonials at the time; this century-old post office is one of the oldest in the country, whilst also being one of the oldest buildings in Nuwara Eliya.

The bridge, also called the "Bridge in the Sky," spans 91 meters in length and 24–30 meters in height, featuring nine elegant arches built without steel support. Constructed between 1919–1921 during British colonial rule, local engineers completed it using stone and cement when steel supplies were diverted for World War I. Elephants transported materials across the hilly terrain, and skilled craftsmen shaped the stones. . The Nine Arch Bridge is located between Ella and Demodara railway stations, surrounded by lush tea plantations and forests, making it one of Sri Lanka's most photographed landmarks
