A traveler visiting Kerid Crater Lake would typically take a short walk around the crater’s rim to admire its striking turquoise waters and vibrant red volcanic rock. They might descend a set of steps to the water’s edge for a closer look or snap photos of the contrasting colors and dramatic surroundings. Guided tours often include background on the lake’s volcanic origins, and visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while learning about Iceland’s natural history. Some people linger to appreciate the landscape’s changing light and enjoy the unique vantage point over the crater from different angles around the rim.
