From Johanneburg, our first stop is Mandela House in Soweto. Mandela House, located at 8115 Vilakazi Street, Orlando West, Soweto, is the former home of Nelson Mandela. He lived there from 1946 until 1962, before his arrest and imprisonment. The house is now a museum, showcasing his personal belongings, photographs, and memorabilia related to his life and activism.

From Mandela House we start the 5 hour journey to Kruger National Park. The 5-hour drive from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park is a scenic and straightforward journey, mostly along the N4 highway via Mbombela (Nelspruit). The well-maintained roads pass through rolling hills, farmlands, and small towns, with convenient rest stops like Alzu Petroport, where you can spot buffalo and rhinos in an enclosure. As you approach Mpumalanga, the landscape becomes lush and mountainous, especially if traveling via Hazyview.

On day 2 we embark on a full day game safari in Kruger National Park. A full-day safari in Kruger National Park is an unforgettable adventure, offering the chance to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—along with countless other wildlife species. Starting early at sunrise, you’ll explore the park’s diverse landscapes, from open savannas to dense bushveld, while following game-rich routes near waterholes and riverbanks. Midday breaks at rest camps like Skukuza or Satara provide a chance to relax and enjoy a meal - own expense. As the day winds down, the golden sunset creates the perfect backdrop for spotting nocturnal animals emerging. With every turn of the road, Kruger’s incredible biodiversity promises thrilling wildlife encounters.

We do a tour of God's Window. God’s Window, located along the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, offers one of South Africa’s most breathtaking views. Perched on the edge of the Drakensberg Escarpment, it provides a panoramic vista of lush forests, deep canyons, and rolling hills stretching toward the Lowveld and beyond. On clear days, you can see as far as Mozambique. The area is surrounded by indigenous rainforests, with short walking trails leading to different viewpoints. Whether shrouded in mist or bathed in golden sunlight, God’s Window is a must-visit for nature lovers and photographers alike.

We also do a tour of Bourkes Luck Potholes. Bourke’s Luck Potholes, located along the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, is a striking natural wonder where centuries of swirling water have carved deep, cylindrical rock formations into the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. These smooth, red and yellow-hued potholes create a surreal landscape of pools, waterfalls, and sculpted rock formations. Wooden bridges and walkways allow visitors to explore the area up close, offering stunning views of the eroded canyon. Named after prospector Tom Bourke, who believed the area was rich in gold, this geological marvel remains one of South Africa’s most unique attractions.

We tour the Three Rondavels. The Three Rondavels, part of the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga, are three towering, beehive-shaped rock formations that resemble traditional African huts, or "rondavels." Rising dramatically above the canyon, these majestic peaks are formed from layers of quartzite and shale, shaped by centuries of erosion. Offering breathtaking panoramic views over Blyde River Dam and the lush valley below, the site is a highlight of the Panorama Route. The Three Rondavels stand as a testament to nature’s artistry, making them a must-visit for photographers and nature lovers.

Finally, we tour the Lisbon Falls. Lisbon Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Mpumalanga, cascades an impressive 94 meters (308 feet) into a lush gorge along the Panorama Route. Located near Graskop, this breathtaking waterfall is named after Portuguese settlers in the area. The falls are surrounded by rugged cliffs and green vegetation, creating a stunning backdrop for photography and nature walks. We then travel to Durban from Isimangaliso Wetlands Park. Traveling from iSimangaliso Wetlands Park to Durban is a scenic drive along the N2 highway, taking approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. The route passes through lush coastal forests, rolling hills, and charming towns like Mtubatuba and Stanger, offering glimpses of South Africa’s rural beauty. As you approach Durban, the landscape transitions to the vibrant city’s beachfront, with its famous Golden Mile and bustling harbor. The journey offers a seamless transition from nature reserves to the lively atmosphere of Durban, known for its beaches, cultural diversity, and rich history.

We do a tour of Durban City - Victoria Market, Durban Promenade, Durban Botanic Gardens. A tour of Durban City offers a blend of vibrant culture, history, and natural beauty. Start at the Victoria Market, a bustling hub where you can experience local crafts, fresh produce, and unique African textiles. We tour Phezulu Safari where we visit the Reptile Park and experience the traditional African Dance Performances. We visit Howick Falls. A visit to Howick Falls takes you to one of the most iconic natural attractions in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. We then proceed to Drakensberg Mountains where we do some hiking. Proceeding to the Drakensberg Mountains offers a breathtaking adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. Known for its rugged peaks, lush valleys, and stunning landscapes, the Drakensberg is a hiker’s paradise with a variety of trails suitable for all levels. The majestic mountain views and rich biodiversity provide an unforgettable experience. We travel on the Wild Coast from Drakensberg to Mthatha. Traveling along the Wild Coast from the Drakensberg Mountains to Mthatha offers a scenic and tranquil journey through some of South Africa's most beautiful and untouched landscapes. The route winds through lush rolling hills and small villages, showcasing the region's natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. We then visit Robberg Nature Reserve for hiking. A visit to Robberg Nature Reserve offers stunning coastal scenery and rewarding hiking trails along the Garden Route. We tour Hermanus and go to whale viewing points when in season. We then travel along the whale coast from Betty's Bay to Cape Town. Traveling along the Whale Coast from Betty's Bay to Cape Town offers a stunning coastal journey, filled with breathtaking ocean views and dramatic landscapes. As you drive, you'll pass through charming seaside towns like Kleinmond and Gansbaai, where you can stop to explore or catch sight of more marine life. The route hugs the coastline, providing glimpses of beaches, cliffs, and coastal fynbos, with the majestic Table Mountain gradually coming into view as you approach Cape Town.
