Designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Japanese government, Ritsurin Garden is the largest cultural garden in Japan. With six ponds and thirteen artificial hills, it features an exquisite design characteristic of early Edo-period strolling gardens. Negoroji Temple is the 82nd temple on the Shikoku pilgrimage and is historically associated with Kōbō Daishi. It is believed that during his pilgrimage, Kōbō Daishi built a temple called Kōzō-in on the main summit of Goshikidai, known as Aofune. Later, Chishō Daishi (a prominent monk of the Tendai sect) carved a statue of Senju Kannon from a sacred tree and founded Chikusō-in, which together with Kōzō-in is known as Negoroji Temple.

The Seto Inland Sea History and Folk Museum, located in Kamezu Town, Takamatsu, is designated as an important cultural property. This public facility, designed by local government officials rather than a famous architect, was completed in 1973. It is one of the newest designated cultural properties in Japan. The museum showcases the maritime history of the Seto Inland Sea, which served as an important hub for Japanese maritime transportation, especially during the Edo period, when water transportation played a vital role in the movement of goods and people.
