Start the day with a visit to the Natori Trail Centre to learn more about the trail. After a brief orientation, begin your hike from the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail Natori Trail Center, leading to Arahama Elementary School.

The area was struck by a 10-meter-high tsunami, leading 320 students, staff, and residents to evacuate to the rooftop of Arahama Elementary School, where they survived. Today, the school building is preserved as a public memorial. The school building is preserved as a monument and features exhibition rooms dedicated to the disaster. From the rooftop, you can view the surrounding area's reconstruction and compare before-and-after photos of the tsunami's impact. After visiting Arahama Elementary School, transfer to your accommodation by vehicle.
