1. Pick-up from your centrally located hotel in Beijing at 8:00 a.m.. 2. Drive to Jiankou Great Wall (driving for 2 hours). 3. Begin to hike. 4. Get down from Mutianyu and drive for about 20 min to a local restaurant. 5. Lunch.
Gubeikou to Jinshanling (5 hrs, 7 km hiking)

1. Breakfast at the same local guesthouse. 2. Begin to hike. After the last tower at Gubeikou, there is a closed and forbidden part for military base on the Great Wall ahead, and you need to walk from there to Jinshanling along the small path in the mountain. 3. When you get to Jinshanling, you'll walk along the Great Wall from outside for some while and then get on the Wall again at one certain tower. 4. Walk on the Great Wall of Jinshanling for about 1.5 hour and then get down from the middle gate of Jinshanling. 5. Lunch at a local restaurant nearby. After lunch, drive back to the guesthouse at Gubeikou. 6. Dinner at the same guesthouse. 7. Evening free time.
