Situated on the fringe of the Cape Town city center, Bo-Kaap, known as the Malay Quarter, is a local tourist attraction with its famous colorful houses dating back to the 1760's. This is a famous monument of the only dog -a Great Dane- in SA, ever to be enlisted in the Royal Navy shore establishment in Simon’s Town between 1939 and 1944. Able Seaman ‘Just Nuisance’ had a rating with rank, pay, rations and duties. He died in 1944 at the age of seven years and was buried with full military honors.
