At 8am, you will be picked up from your centrally located Datong hotel, then take 2-hour car ride to Hanging Monastery. The monastery was built with wood beside the cliff and supported with long stakes. You can view the temples from outside for the fantastic constructions on the impressive mountains. Please note you may not be able to walk inside the temple to visit, because it limits the daily visitors with a long queue.

Then, you will come back Datong and head to Yungang Grottoes, which was first chiseled in the first year of Year Heping in Northern Wei and Monk Tan Yao at that time chiseled it for duty of Emperor Wencheng. Most of the grottoes were finished in the eighteenth year of Year Taihe in Northern Wei before the capital moved to Luoyang, which lasted for forty years. Later, you will be transferred back to your Datong hotel where the tour concludes.
