It is an old shikumen house built in the 1920s that has been preserved and renovated. The museum was built according to the model of one household in the 1920s. The story of a shikumen family runs through the whole visit. It not only shows the unique shikumen architectural culture of Shanghai, but also reproduces the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days. Shanghai People's Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and is the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a flourishing place for people to look around. There are many scenic spots around people's square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater and the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Once the tallest building in Shanghai, the Oriental Pearl Tower remains one of the most recognizable skyscrapers in Pudong, part of the skyline visible from The Bund.
