Upon your arrival at Lijiang Sanyi Airport, you will be greeted by the representative and transferred to the hotel. The Old Town of Lijiang is located on the Lijiang plain at an elevation of 2,400 meters in southwest Yunnan, where a series of strategic passes give access to the surrounding mountains. It is made up of three parts: Dayan Old Town (including the Black Dragon Pond), Baisha and Shuhe housing clusters. This afternoon, you will explore this beautiful old town and get a better feel for this ancient Yunnan city.

Today you will continue to explore the Old Town of Lijiang. Your first stop is the Black Dragon Pool, a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park (Yu Quan Gong Yuan) located at the foot of Elephant Hill. It was built in 1737 during the Qing dynasty and standing on its white marble bridge it offers a spectacular view of the region's tallest mountain, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Next, you will visit Lion Hill Park located in the center of the old town. This park is a nationally famous and very well rated attraction. The park was built against the hill, resembling a lion lying sleeping, hence its name. The ancient buildings in the park are in the best position to give you a bird's view of Lijiang's old town.

This afternoon, you will head out of town explore Baisha village including Baisha Wall Mural. Baisha Village is located about 16 km north of Lijiang. The village is known for its interesting wall murals and statues of ancient figures and a little quieter than Lijiang. Spend some time in the local market interacting with local people.

After breakfast, you will continue your journey to admire the awe-inspiring views of the Tiger Leaping Gorge. This is one of the deepest canyons in the world and the sight of the 3900m mountain wall are breathtaking, as they drop from the snow-capped tops of Haba Shan to the cool gushing waters of Shinsha River, The Tiger Leaping Gorge is considered to be one of the most spectacular natural wonders in all of China. You will start the hike at Qiaotou, where you will leave your large backpacks behind and take only the most essentials. After a slow and steady climb, you reach the 28 bends (the most challenging part of the trek), a steep and twisting path gaining some altitude and offering breath-taking views. Today's hike is about 6 hours long but it is rewarding.
