In the morning, your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and head to Qiao's Family Compound, located in Qi County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, about 42 km (25 mi) away from Pingyao Ancient City. It is a large architectural complex, the magnificent building reflects the unique living styles of northerners in ancient China during the Qing Dynasty.

Then stop for a local lunch. After lunch, continue to Shuanglin Temple, a large Buddhist temple in the Shanxi Province of China. Founded in 6th century, it is notable for its collection of more than 2,000 decorated colorful clay statues, reflecting the exquisite skills of the artisans of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Ancient City of Pingyao in 1997.

After Shuanglin Temple visiting, continue to Pingyao Ancient City, founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 771 BC) and rebuilt in 1370. It is nowadays one of China's four best preserved old cities together with Lijiang Old Town, Huizhou Ancient City and Langzhong Ancient City. After the tour, you can choose to end in the ancient town and enjoy your own time there, or back to your hotel.
