This land lies about 70 km south - east of Cape Town just beyond the Hottentots Holland Mountains. The town is known for sheep farming and boast of other agricultural activities that includes wheat, canola, milk and indigenous fynbos cultivation.

The waters here are quite shallow and you can take off your shoes and enjoy the soft sand underneath your feet. This region is also known to be the richest fishing place in the Southern Hemisphere.
