Ragusa Ibla is the ancient historical center of the city of Ragusa. It is famous all over the world for over fifty churches and numerous palaces, testimony of the highest expression of Baroque in Sicily. Located on a hill, the small village of Ibla dominates the surrounding valley, with its huts and narrow streets on which the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio reigns, the highest expression of the Hyblean baroque. Ragusa ibla has become in recent years one of the most important tourist attractions in Sicily. In 2002 the city was included among the UNESCO Baroque sites of the Val di Noto.
