Ta Keo is one of the most impressive temple-mountains in the Angkor Archaeological Park and is believed to be the first temple in the Khmer Empire built almost entirely from sandstone. Constructed during the reign of Jayavarman V, the son of Rajendravarman, Ta Keo was designed as the state temple following the architectural style of Pre Rup. The temple features a striking five-tier pyramid structure with steep overlapping terraces leading to five sanctuary towers arranged in a quincunx pattern on the uppermost level. Ta Prohm is the modern name of a temple near the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia, approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray. It was built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th century and early 13th century and was originally called Rajavihara.
