Meiji Jingu Shrine honors Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, who had led Japan through a period of rapid modernization starting in the second half of the 19th century. The facility's vast forest, which spans approximately 70 hectares, was created by transplanting approximately 100,000 trees donated from all over Japan. The shrine celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020.

The street's official name, Kyu-Shibuya-gawa Yuhodoro, is often shortened to "Yuhodo" by locals. Unlike the crowded and energetic Takeshita-dori in Harajuku, Cat Street offers a more relaxed and understated atmosphere. It's a back street with a distinct vibe, reminiscent of the Minami-Aoyama fashion district. While it's gained fame over the years, Cat Street maintains its laid-back charm, avoiding the hard-sell approach of some other shopping areas. Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo's most recognizable sights, pictured in countless films, magazines and blogs. During its busiest times, an estimated 1,000 to 2,500 people forge their way across this intersection every two minutes, enough to quickly fill up a football stadium.
